Maeshowe December 1997 - January 1998

Unfortunately December 1997 was not blessed with very many really clear afternoons.  Many times the sky was clear but the inevitable clouds rolled in from the west just before sunset.  There was one particularly good sunset just before the shortest day, but that was cut off prematurely by cloud.  We of course hope for better in 1998.

 The beam widened out, but before it reached the blocking stone, it was extinguished
