Reappearing sun at the Watchstone on 12 December 2001
The
Watchstone is situated at the south end of the Bridge of Brodgar NW
of the Standing Stones of Stenness. The sun reappears from behind the
Ward Hill of Hoy from here. We hope to determine the "flashing"
day this year if the weather allows.

shone brightly for a few minutes

is sank it grew less bright

slowly sank into the notch in the hills

For the first few days we had very overcast weather, but starting on 9th December we had a big high pressure over us. Excellent sunsets from then. Also lovely sunrises as above.
